Job summary

Smurfit Westrock’s Lanett plant seeks a Process Engineer to join the Operational Excellence team, driving production and process improvements across the site. You will partner with suppliers, employees, and customers to deliver tangible gains in safety, quality, cost, efficiency, productivity and customer satisfaction.

You will lead project teams, troubleshoot processes, report performance metrics, and develop new procedures while supporting capital projects and 24/7 operations as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field.
• Ability to gather, organize, analyze, and interpret data.
• Lean Six Sigma improvement methodology certification within 2 years.
• Lead broad and complex project teams and initiatives.
• Act as a change agent to achieve results with urgency.
• Organize multiple projects and action items simultaneously.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and WestRock software systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead process improvement project teams.
• Provide technical troubleshooting to solve process and product problems.
• Report and present key project updates and results.
• Create new process procedures and deliver training as needed.
• Serve as a facility-wide technical resource for departments.
