Job summary

ITW Shakeproof Fasteners in Watertown, WI is seeking a Process Engineer to support tool design, continuous improvement, and capacity analysis within APQP.

You will work with manufacturing, quality, sales, and APQP teams to drive new product launches and manufacturing efficiency, leveraging Lean methods and CAD tools.

Bachelor's in Engineering and 1–2 years in manufacturing are required; automotive experience and CAD (AutoCAD/SolidWorks) are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 1–2 years in manufacturing; tooling development for metal manufacturing (fastener) preferred.
  • Automotive industry experience is beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of APQP or equivalent gated product development processes.
  • Lean techniques with strong Excel/PowerPoint/Word; CAD experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with manufacturing to develop prints, BOMs, routings and establishes controls for ensuring quality product; create Process FMEAs and Control Plans.
  • Creates 2D and/or 3D models of tooling used in manufacturing of our product.
  • Leads Build Events during APQP process of new product (if applicable).
  • Supports capacity analysis for new and existing product.
  • Guides APQP Engineers on part feasibility for potential new business.
  • Using Lean techniques, supports continuous improvement projects to reduce waste and improve performance.
  • Works with Production to troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
  • Supports Quality in root cause analysis of customer and internal issues.
  • Manages updates to engineering prints, standards or processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
