The Senior Lead Engineer serves as a technical and strategic leader across projects, offices, and regions. This role is responsible for overseeing discipline‑specific execution, managing budgets for complex projects, and guiding engineering teams to deliver high‑quality outcomes aligned with client goals.

As a Subject Matter Expert, the Senior Lead Engineer brings exceptional technical depth and broad industry insight, offering critical value from project inception through delivery. This individual mentors emerging leaders, mitigates technical risks, and ensures that engineering solutions support business objectives while accounting for constraints and external factors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage design and engineering teams (Entry‑Level to Senior) to meet project goals and client expectations.
  • Oversee discipline scope, budget, and scheduling in collaboration with Project Managers on complex and multi‑phase projects.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external partners, and clients to align priorities and ensure seamless execution.
  • Identify and resolve advanced non‑compliant conditions during site walks and construction surveys.
  • Develop and deliver advanced training presentations for internal discipline development.
  • Produce construction drawing packages and specifications independently for complex projects.
  • Provide advanced support during construction, including RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch lists, and progress reports.
  • Conduct technical and leadership interviews to support team growth and hiring.
  • Perform quality checks on complex project documentation, including design calculations and technical verification.
  • Mentor Engineers and Designers across levels I–III, fostering technical growth and leadership development.
  • Lead system design programming and master planning efforts with support from Senior Engineers.
  • Communicate and coordinate across disciplines, including architects, engineers, construction managers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Provide strategic guidance to other offices and functions such as Business Development, Technical Advancement, and Vertical Markets.
  • Shape business strategy by offering industry‑level insights in response to evolving technologies and client needs.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • ABET‑accredited Bachelor’s degree in a discipline‑specific engineering field.
  • PE license strongly recommended.
  • 15+ years of experience for Senior Lead Engineer; 20+ years for SME designation.
  • Experience across design firms, operating companies, or construction environments preferred.
Additional Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of cGMPs and their application in advanced technology projects.
  • Expertise in discipline‑specific codes and standards.
  • Strong familiarity with applicable building codes and industry regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets and direct work on large‑scale projects.
  • Experience conducting field surveys and generating field reports.
  • Proficiency in cross‑discipline coordination and collaboration with trade partners and vendors.
  • Ability to perform complex design calculations independently.
