Job summary

Mativ is seeking a Process Engineer Intern for the Whiting, WI facility. You will support process efficiency, data analysis, and project work across operations, gaining exposure to paper production and quality issues.

The internship lasts 10 weeks starting in May 2027. Candidates are enrolled in Paper Science, Chemistry, or Engineering and have strong Excel skills; safety and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Paper Science, Chemistry or Engineering with progress toward a degree.
• Minimum 1 full year of coursework; preference for 2 years.
• Solid Excel skills.
• Initiative and drive; curious to learn and improve the business.
• Ability to analyze information to find opportunities and communicate findings.
• Able to pass pre-employment tests and background check; 18+.
• Willingness to wear PPE on the operating floor.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and promote a safe work environment.
• Assist with process efficiency improvements and cost savings initiatives.
• Update mill documentation and drawings.
• Identify paper defects and propose solutions.
• Participate in new customer or product trials.
• Attend leadership meetings and report on tasks.
• Assist in creating or adjusting standard operating procedures.
• Contribute to mill projects as assigned.

Schedule:This is typically a Monday through Fridaydaytime role, but evening and weekend work may berequired.

Mativ is actively pursuing interns witha Paper Science, Chemistry or Engineeringbackground to complete a10-weekinternshipprogram at our Whiting Mill starting inMay2027.TheInternwill provide exposure to many aspects of operations including a multi-functional team setting,real-timeproduction, process experience and project work with specific deliverables and exposure to the mill leadership team.Internswillparticipatein mill and production line operations to learn technical properties and quality issues of paper or paper-based materials.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety procedures and promote a safe work environment.

• Work with the team on process efficiency improvements, cost savings and/or technology advancement.

• Update existing mill documentation and drawings.

• Identify paper defects and develop plans to resolve them.

• Participate in new customer or new product trials.

• Attend meetings with leadership team and report out on assigned tasks.

• Work with leadership to modify or create standard operating procedures.

• Project work as assigned by mill management.

Qualifications

Required

• Individualmust be currently enrolled and working toward a degree with a concentration inaPaper Science, Chemistry orEngineering discipline.

• Completion ofa minimum of 1-full year of course work with preference for individuals who have completed 2-full years.

• Must have solid Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.

• Ideal candidates willpossesshigh initiative and drive, with a curiosity to perpetually learn and improve our business.

• Key requirements include the ability to analyze information to find opportunities, effectively synthesize and communicate findings, and work collaboratively in a team setting.

• Abilityto pass pre-employment physical capabilities test, pre-employment drug/alcoholscreeninganda backgroundcheck.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Ability and willingness to meet ouroperators where theirwork is done on the operating floorand wear required PPE when doing so.

Preferred

• Preference is aminimum3.0 GPA in your academic field of study.

• Prior internship experience
