Lithium Americas Corp. invites applications for a Process Engineer Intern to support Thacker Pass Operations from our Reno, NV office.

You will assist the process engineering team with experiments, pilot plant operations, data collection, and reporting, contributing to safe, innovative lithium processing development. The role requires enrollment in chemical engineering or related discipline, strong communication, and hands-on lab and piloting method experience, with occasional travel to project

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in chemical engineering or related discipline, at the collegiate level.
• Results oriented, flexible and adaptable.
• Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Competencies: communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving, organizing & planning, collaboration, creative thinking.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Process Engineering Team in design and development of experiments and/or projects.
• Actively participate in running and troubleshooting pilot plant unit operations for lithium extraction and processing.
• Be a critical team member within the Technical Center Team.
• Take experimental samples and prepare for handoff to the analytical laboratory.
• Learn basic laboratory and piloting methods for conducting and carrying out experiments.
• Record data, take notes, and write reports for projects or R&D initiatives.
• Handle general tools and assist in assembly, disassembly, and cleaning of equipment.
• Contribute ideas to improve process design.
• Help ensure a safe working environment and commit to zero harm at the Technical Center.
• Build and maintain relationships across teams and support Lithium Americas’ values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
