Job summary

Titan America's Roanoke Cement Plant in Troutville, VA, is seeking a Process Engineer Intern to support the Cement Production Manager. The internship focuses on safety, efficiency, and project-driven improvements within a heavy industry setting.

The role requires currently pursuing a Chemical, Materials Science, or Process Engineering degree, strong communication, and the ability to work both independently and in a team.

Overview

We have an excellent opportunity for a Process Engineer Intern at our Roanoke Cement Plant in Troutville, VA. This position will report directly to the Cement Production Manager. The Internship will consist of the following:

Responsibilities

Complete safety training based on MSHA requirements for cement plant.

• Monitor methods and equipment with a view on improving performance and efficiency.
• Assist in developing and implementing departmental plans.
• Assist in identifying courses of action to improve safety, operational efficiencies, control production costs and protect the environment.
• Assist with reporting, planning, and audits.
• Clearly articulate ideas or issues to management.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Graduate or student actively pursuing a degree in Chemical, Material Sciences or Process Engineering.
• Ability to be a self-starter, be self-directed, and take initiative to move forward with ideas; must be able to work with and influence others.
• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) with professional decorum.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical and judgment capabilities to anticipate issues and provide solutions.
• Ability to work effectively and independently in a team environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Must have basic project management skills.
• Prior internship or Co-op experience in heavy industry beneficial.
• Positive attitude to achieve goals and deliver results.
• Availability to commit to a minimum of 35 hours per week.
