Job summary

District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (DC Water) is hiring a Process Engineer II to support the Blue Plains Wastewater Treatment Plant. The role focuses on evaluating treatment processes, improving operations, and coordinating with maintenance, process controls, and asset management teams.

The successful candidate will conduct process studies, review designs, and develop feasibility proposals while ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience related to wastewater treatment processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Chemical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • Knowledge of EPA and OSHA requirements and safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for the Blue Plains Wastewater Treatment Plant and drive process control improvements.
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve plant performance and efficiency.
  • Interface with vendors and contractors to coordinate project work and ensure compliance.
  • Analyze process data and reports to identify optimization opportunities and troubleshoot issues.
