Process Engineer II – Metallization

As the Process Engineer II, you will be responsible for collaborating with engineering, R&D, manufacturing, and other staff to scale up and develop processes to full‑scale production. You will execute on larger strategic projects, including equipment/process qualifications, systems/process integration, and multi‑site initiatives.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Scale up and development of processes to full‑scale production.
- Oversee manufacturing processes to maintain and improve product and process quality.
- Participate in projects to optimize and improve existing materials, products, processes, and/or procedures.
- Lead problem‑solving activities for complex issues that involve the process and associated equipment. Utilize Structured Problem Solving (SPS) and Process Control System (PCS) methodologies to resolve complex issues and reduce process variation.
- Deploy expertise in Lean Six Sigma and process improvement methodologies through application in an extensive scope of projects and gather input from project leaders or senior‑level colleagues.
- Aid in technology transfers to meet production requirements. Document, train, and guide plant engineering and manufacturing team members. Develop and implement best practices.
- Install, program, maintain, and troubleshoot various equipment, including automated/robotic manufacturing equipment. Participate in long/short‑range equipment planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Serve as a technical resource to customers by providing expertise in technical metallized ceramics. Collaborate with customer engineering teams to interpret drawings, specifications, tolerances, and performance requirements.
- Maintain high safety requirements, including meeting local consensus safety standards.
- Be willing to work on the production floor for extended periods.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Ceramics, Chemical, or Materials Engineering preferred, or a related engineering discipline.
- At least 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Experience in screen printing and metallization processes, or relevant project experience preferred.
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Materials Knowledge – materials and characterization of materials.
- Software knowledge: MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SolidWorks required. InfinityQS, Minitab, or CMM programming are a plus.
- Analytical/Critical Thinking – ability to analyze data to identify root causes, develop strategies for routine issues, recommend process improvements, and evaluate solutions with flexibility and critical thinking.

- Mathematical Reasoning – understands and applies complex mathematical concepts, including geometry and trigonometry, works with various 2D and 3D coordinate systems, applies geometric dimensioning & tolerance requirements, and writes and troubleshoots simple formulas in Excel or similar software.
- Project Management – leads projects through all phases, from initiation to closing, by defining scope, planning resources, managing teams, ensuring effective communication, and documenting progress and results.
- Technology Use – independently operates common technology platforms (e.g., InfinityQS, SPC, Service Center, Analytical Lab, etc.) and uses job aids and help documentation to resolve issues.
- Time Management – determines task priorities, avoids multitasking and procrastination, understands appropriate time allocation, sets boundaries to prevent overwork, and eliminates unproductive tasks.
- Must be able to work with a diverse variety of teammates with different cultures and backgrounds.
Target Hiring Range Annual Salary
USD 92,000.00 – USD 121,440.00. Actual compensation is commensurate with experience, skills and education.
