Job summary

Tremco Construction Products Group is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to ensure safety, maintain product quality, and boost process efficiency in a chemical production setting. The role emphasizes LEAN practices and active on-floor involvement in significant process equipment projects.

The position requires a 4-year engineering degree and at least 2 years of experience, with responsibilities spanning safety analyses, LEAN adoption, and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• A 4-year engineering degree is required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a chemical process environment.
• Strong safety mindset and LEAN experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in safety management and address issues with shift supervisors.
• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and Job Safety Analyses (JSA).
• Identify and address safety concerns proactively.
• Utilize DAKOTA software for compliance, incident reporting, and safety management.
• Develop and refine standard work to apply LEAN principles.
• Manage tasks on Engineering Tier and accountability boards, and perform daily GEMBA Walks.
• Lead projects to eliminate non-value-added activities using engineering principles.
• Improve equipment efficiency and participate in quality training programs.
• Manage medium-complexity process equipment projects with budgeting considerations.
• Contribute to the facility's Quality Improvement Council (QIC).
• Mentor less experienced engineers.
