Greenville, OH (Onsite)

We are seeking a Process Engineer II to join our Coatings team in Greenville, OH.

Join us in creating chemistry!

This role involves supporting daily operations and providing technical support for the Electrocoat Binder (Ecoat) production, which manufactures resins and intermediates for BASF’s CATHOGUARD products. The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership in safe plant operations, adhere to BASF Process Safety rules, and drive standardization, optimize cycle times, and troubleshoot process issues. Mentoring the Operations Engineer and directing production processes to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency are also key responsibilities.

Responsibilities include...

• Partnering with Operations to ensure safe Ecoat process operations.
• Leading projects to improve processes and reduce costs.
• Reviewing and resolving formulation and process quality issues.
• Providing troubleshooting support, including off-hours, to resume production safely.
• Communicating process and project information effectively to all stakeholders.
• Offering technical guidance and facilitating root cause analyses.
• Taking responsibility for all Ecoat plant trials.
• Implementing solutions for recurring process issues.

Qualifications...

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
• Over 5 years of experience in the chemical industry.
• Self-motivated with a focus on improving procedures.
• Excellent computer skills; ABB automation knowledge preferred.
• Familiarity with process equipment and instrumentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience in root cause failure analysis.
• Understanding of Process Safety Concepts, EHS procedures, and PSM standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
