Job summary

Moderna is seeking a Process Engineer II to support aseptic filling, visual inspection, and secondary packaging at the Norwood, MA site. You will troubleshoot equipment, support investigations, and drive continuous improvement in a GMP environment.

This hands-on role focuses on equipment reliability, process optimization, and operational excellence while developing technical expertise under senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical/chemical/biomedical) or related.
• 2–5 years of GMP pharma manufacturing or process/equipment engineering experience.
• Experience supporting manufacturing equipment in regulated environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• On-site in Norwood, MA; remote work not eligible.

Responsibilities

• Support process and equipment ownership for aseptic filling lines, isolators/RABS, packaging, and related equipment.
• Monitor equipment performance using KPIs (OEE, downtime, rejects).
• Support preventive maintenance optimization, spare parts, CMMS updates, and lifecycle docs.
• Assist in equipment inspections and improvements to boost reliability.
• Coordinate qualification activities and change controls; assist validation.
• Provide on-floor engineering support during manufacturing operations.
