Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States seeks a Chemical Engineer to monitor process performance, identify yield and energy opportunities, and support projects for reliability improvements. You will collaborate with operations, engineering and maintenance teams, build relationships with field operators, and participate in hazard evaluations and PHAs, outages, and documentation upkeep.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and US work authorization; a Marathon Petroleum internship

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
Must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without sponsorship.
Must be a former Intern of Marathon Petroleum Corporation.

Responsibilities

Monitors process performance and identifies opportunities for improving yield, energy efficiency, and reliability.
Assists in plan test runs and develops projects to address opportunities.
Supports collaboration with operations, engineering and maintenance teams to resolve operational challenges.
Develops relationships with console and field operators.
Participates in hazard evaluations, incident investigations, and management of change.
Participates in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).
Supports turnaround/outage execution.
Maintains and updates process documentation.
Troubleshoots and maintains unit mass balance within tolerance.
Participates in technology advisory groups.
