Job Summary
Provides process engineering expertise in a collaborative environment to enhance safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally responsible operations within industrial manufacturing facilities. Serves as a technical resource working alongside operations, maintenance, environmental health and safety (EHS), and engineering teams to support business and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and report on operational performance, process units, and key variables impacting plant efficiency, production capacity, emissions, process safety, and equipment performance.
- Evaluate process and equipment performance to reduce operational disruptions and develop solutions involving:
- Pumps
- Compressors
- Turbines
- Boilers
- Reactors
- Steam systems
- Other industrial process equipment
- Optimize process performance through:
- Troubleshooting
- Process modeling
- Data analysis
- Process testing
- Technical support for operations teams
- Complete engineering studies and provide process engineering support during the design and implementation of new systems and installations.
- Support development and prioritization of projects aimed at:
- Increasing production capacity
- Improving energy efficiency
- Enhancing environmental, health, and safety performance
- Prepare and review engineering documentation including:
- Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
- Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Scopes of work
- Equipment specifications
- Review operational procedures and equipment operating limits. Develop and deliver training related to process changes and operational refreshers.
- Management of Change (MOC)
- Process Hazard Analyses (PHA)
- Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA)
- Incident investigations
- Support maintenance and operational turnaround activities including inspections, startup/shutdown support, catalyst replacement coordination, and restart activities.
- Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships across departments and operational personnel.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university required.
- Minimum of 2 years of process engineering experience in one or more of the following industries:
- Chemical manufacturing
- Refining
- Oil and gas
- Related industrial processing environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
- Ability and willingness to perform field engineering activities in an operating industrial facility environment.
- Ability and willingness to support 24/7 operations during critical events including startups, shutdowns, operational upsets, and maintenance activities.
Compensation & Benefits
- US$125000 - US$155000 per annum + up to 15% bonus, 401k package
