Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Authorization to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must be a former Intern of Marathon Petroleum Corporation.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitors process performance and identifies opportunities for improving yield, energy efficiency, and reliability.
• Assists in plan test runs and develops projects to address opportunities.
• Supports collaboration with operations, engineering and maintenance teams to resolve operational challenges.
• Develops relationships with console and field operators.
• Participates in hazard evaluations, incident investigations, and management of change (MOC).
• Participates in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA).
• Supports turnaround/outage execution; reviews turnaround planning and post-event evaluations.
• Maintains and updates process documentation; troubleshoots and maintains unit mass balance within tolerance.
• Participates in technology advisory groups.
