Job summary

Sabert is seeking a Process Engineer to optimize plastic manufacturing processes, boost efficiency, and reduce costs. You will partner with production, engineering, and leadership to troubleshoot issues and lead continuous improvement initiatives that support safe, high-quality operations.

You will drive root cause investigations, standardize procedures, and train teams while contributing to cost reductions and capacity improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/industrial/ mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years of manufacturing or process engineering experience, preferably in plastics.
  • Experience leading process improvement and cost-reduction projects.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks for process layout and trials.

Responsibilities

  • Improve manufacturing processes to boost efficiency and quality.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across production and engineering teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process and equipment issues with root-cause analyses.
  • Standardize operating procedures and monitor performance with metrics.
  • Evaluate equipment capabilities and recommend improvements.
  • Train personnel on processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support customer certifications and regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing operations as needed.

What is my day to day like?

As our Process Engineer / Industrial Engineer, you will play a key role in improving manufacturing processes, increasing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing product quality. You will work closely with production, engineering, and leadership teams to troubleshoot issues, standardize processes, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that support safe and efficient manufacturing operations.

  • Establish, monitor, and optimize standard operating conditions to ensure product quality and maximize production rates.
  • Lead process improvement projects focused on reducing downtime, improving efficiency, increasing capacity, reducing scrap, and lowering operating costs.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and implements corrective actions for quality, production, and equipment-related issues.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to manufacturing operations.
  • Evaluate production equipment capabilities and recommend equipment, tooling, and process improvements.
  • Train and support operating personnel on process standards, operating procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Audit manufacturing operations and provide recommendations to leadership regarding process performance, operating effectiveness, and safety practices.
  • Support and lead efforts related to customer certifications, quality standards, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety, quality, product safety and legality, security, and regulatory compliance as applicable.
What makes a person successful in this position?
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of manufacturing or process engineering experience, preferably in plastics manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience leading process improvement and cost reduction projects.
  • Ability to draw in Solid Works to assist with process improvement projects.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to design and execute process trials and experiments with supporting business justifications.
  • Knowledge of plastics materials and processes, including APET, CPET, and PP preferred.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and manufacturing best practices.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and training skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
What will my schedule be like?

This is a full-time position scheduled for 40+ hours per week. Additional hours may be required to support production, process improvement projects, equipment trials, and operational needs. Core work hours are generally Monday through Friday, prefer to work an off-shift (2nd/3rd shift) with flexibility required to support manufacturing operations as needed.
