Qualifications

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry is required.
• 3–8 years of experience in chemical or pharmaceutical plant environments.
• Knowledge of piping and valve operations to control processes.
• Familiar with engineering drawings (flow diagrams) and capacity analysis.
• Experience with analytical techniques (GC) and fermentation bioprocess is desirable.
• Experience in food or pharma industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides day-to-day process monitoring, including troubleshooting of process, yield, quality and equipment reliability issues.
• Develops and maintains plant material balances, capacity evaluations, and area/plant yields; reports on KPIs.
• Scale up R&D equipment and processes to improve yields and cycle time on new processes.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure equipment reliability, quality and cost targets.
• Lead process capacity and efficiency improvements; manage operator data and improvement teams.
• Support area capital projects, including scope development, cost justification, start-up, and training.
