Job summary

Manus Bio is seeking a highly organized Process Design Engineer to lead the design of new and scale-up of pilot and lab processes at our Augusta, GA facility. You will develop P&IDs, mass and energy balances, and support capital projects, commissioning and startup, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Chemical Engineering with 3–15 years in plant engineering or process design, strong communication, and hands-on experience with process safety, documentation,

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical Engineering or equivalent; 3–15 years in plant engineering or process design.
• Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics, transport, and kinetics.
• Experience reading P&IDs and working in an industrial setting.
• Excellent oral and written communication; able to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficient with Windows-based software and basic data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and supports conceptual design of new processes, including P&IDs, scale-up calculations, and mass/energy balances.
• Supports capital projects, scope development, cost justification, control logic, start-up, and commissioning.
• Provides Process Safety Management ownership including hazard analysis participation and MOC for changes.
• Troubleshoots design issues and prepares detailed engineering reports.
• Works with Process Development teams to ensure proper lab experiments and pilot data collection.
• Assists with full-scale-up of pilot processes and KPIs reporting.
