Job Title: Process Engineer – Fuel Forms

Duration: Full-Time

Location: Oak Ridge, TN

Short Summary about Job:

HukariAscendent is seeking a Process Engineer to support fuel form manufacturing operations at a nuclear facility in Oak Ridge, TN. This onsite role involves developing, optimizing, and operating manufacturing processes including coating, powder preparation, compaction, and furnace-based operations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, or Nuclear Engineering from an ABET EAC-accredited program.
• Demonstrated experience in process development, manufacturing operations, or pilot-scale production environments.
• Proven ability to develop, read, and interpret process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, equipment specifications, and related process documentation.
• Experience supporting the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of manufacturing or process equipment.
• Working knowledge of applicable manufacturing, chemical, and safety codes, standards, and regulations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Five or more years of relevant professional experience preferred; advanced degrees may substitute for a portion of required experience.
• Hands-on experience with powder handling, coating operations, furnace systems, thermal processing, or chemical manufacturing equipment.
• Familiarity with process control systems, automation technologies, and data acquisition or data management tools.
• Experience using 2D and/or 3D engineering and manufacturing software tools.
• Onsite position in Oak Ridge, TN. Full-time, exempt position; Monday–Friday, 40-hour work week.
• Responsibilities include developing and maintaining manufacturing documentation (process flow diagrams, P&IDs, equipment layouts, process specifications) and performing process modeling and data analysis.
• Will support process automation, material handling solutions, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participates in hazard analyses and safety reviews; provides mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
