Job summary

Gooch & Housego in Fremont, CA, is seeking a Process Engineer with a focus on Documentation to establish and maintain manufacturing processes, documentation systems, and technical standards for repeatable, compliant production.

You will partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations to ensure documents reflect current practices, support new product introductions, and drive continuous improvement across the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; 3+ years in Process/Manufacturing Engineering or Technical Documentation.
• Experience developing and maintaining manufacturing documentation (SOPs, work instructions, process specs, visual work instructions).
• Strong document control, configuration management, and engineering change processes.
• Experience with regulated manufacturing environments (AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485) or similar.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and control manufacturing documentation including work instructions, SOPs, process specifications, visual aids, routings, and reports.
• Manage document control processes, ECOs, configuration changes, process revisions, and product releases with traceability.
• Ensure documentation reflects current production practices and approved changes.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering to define, qualify, and optimize processes for safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Develop process maps, routings, and error-proofing to support readiness and scalable manufacturing.
• Support new product introductions, tech transfers, and product/process qualifications with proper documentation and tooling.
