Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a process design engineer to execute and optimize process designs within the consumer products industry. You will analyze data, apply theoretical principles to practical contexts, and determine design feasibility while addressing potential upsets with effective remediations.

The role emphasizes engagement with clients, ethical standards, and hands-on work on pumps, heat exchangers, vessels, and related equipment.

Qualifications

B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience in the consumer products industry preferred.
Experience in leading or executing process designs with engineering calculations documented on PFDs, P&IDs, GA drawings, specifications, design basis, and lists.
Knowledge of chemicals and fluids used in consumer products applications, interactions with materials of construction, and proper design considerations.
Fluency with AutoCAD and Fathom.
Understanding of fluid control valves and instrumentation.
Familiarity with specification and sizing of pumps, heat exchangers, vessels, and other process equipment.
Great customer relationship skills/management experience.
Preferably on-site, in plant, and startup experience.

Responsibilities

Execute process designs primarily within the consumer products industry.
Investigate and analyze data to make sound process design decisions aligned with company, client, and project objectives.
Apply theory in a practical context to determine feasibility of design.
Identify potential process upsets and malfunctions incorporating appropriate remediations.
Apply commercially available technology for process execution.
Maintain high values on professional ethics in the application of codes and standards and in interactions with clients.
