Job summary

Nucor in the United States is seeking a Senior Chemical/Energy Engineer to lead process development for decarbonization and efficient chemical processes across direct reduction technologies. You will design, analyze, and optimize HYL/ Energiron reactor systems, and develop digital twins for DRI production using Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, and ProMax.

Responsibilities include leading safety-focused process improvements, performing thermodynamic simulations, and coordinating multi-disciplinary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or foreign equivalent in Chemical or Energy Engineering with 3 years of experience in designing, analyzing, and optimizing chemical processes.
  • Experience with hydrogen-rich gas systems, decarbonization strategies, and thermodynamic simulations.
  • Experience with Tenova HYL technology, digital twin models, and process safety practices (HAZOP).

Responsibilities

  • Lead process development for decarbonization and efficient chemical processes.
  • Design and optimize Tenova HYL direct reduction reactor and related systems.
  • Develop digital twins for DRI processes using Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, and ProMax.
  • Conduct HAZOP risk assessments and ensure compliance with ASME, TEMA and API standards.
