Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering, plus 5 years of full-time chemical plant experience.
• Ethylene plant progressive technical experience including process engineering, product development, and plant practices.
• Computer programming and software skills.
• TWIC card is required and background screening will be performed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor day-to-day unit operation to minimize costs and maximize production.
• Troubleshoot process problems, mechanical failures and customer complaints.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Customer Tech Service, complaints and sales on product development.
• Follow directions from Unit Manager or Production Superintendent to ensure policies are followed.
• Initiate notes and studies to improve efficiency, profitability, quality, safety; work with project teams on improvements.
• Keep Production updated on new technology and process techniques.
• Collaborate with Unit Manager and Supervisors on process, safety and environmental issues.
• Monitor the operating budget monthly and investigate root causes of expenses.
• Develop/update P&IDs, JSEA's, GOI's and Emergency Procedures.
• Work on assigned projects and provide general plant support.
