Job summary

PPS-HPS is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer for the custom ceramics and metal oxide powders business in Indiana. You will bridge R&D and manufacturing, turning innovative concepts into scalable production while improving yields and process efficiency.

This hands-on role requires a bachelor's in ceramics or materials science, with experience in ceramic/inorganic manufacturing and a strong grasp of SPC, ISO-9001, and quality systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Ceramics Engineering or Materials Science (required).
  • Experience with ceramic or inorganic material manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of process control, yield analysis, and quality systems.
  • Able to work in a production-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the transition of new products from development to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Develop and refine process plans, equipment settings, and in-process specifications.
  • Analyze and improve yield, efficiency, and process capability.
  • Implement SPC and ISO-9001 documentation.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Business Development, and Development Engineering.
  • Review equipment performance, energy usage, and calibration requirements.
  • Support customer interactions related to product specs and testing.
  • Drive continuous improvement, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
  • Ensure proper product labeling, testing, traceability, and disposition.
  • Maintain accurate process documentation and quality records.
