Job summary

Stepan Co. is hiring a Process Engineer at our Millsdale, IL site to provide technical support for Capital Projects from feasibility through construction and start-up.

The role serves as the key technical resource to optimize plant capacity, cost, safety, quality and environmental performance. You will participate on capital project teams, develop technical deliverables, and actively contribute to safety programs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of process engineering experience.
• Experience in Chemical and related industries.
• Certified Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as process engineer on capital project teams.
• Develop technical deliverables on key capital projects to ensure workable, cost effective solutions meeting objectives.
• Prepare Process/Engineering Flow Diagrams, Material and Energy Balances (M&EB's), and P&ID's.
• Create Failure and Cause Diagrams (FCD's) and scope reports.
• Support plant optimization to improve cost, capacity, safety, quality and environment.
• Actively participate in safety programs to improve safety culture.
• Deliver solutions without supervision and help ensure project success.
