Job summary

Electro-Methods Inc., a Stronvar Aerospace company, is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our aerospace manufacturing team in South Windsor, CT.

You will develop processes, create detailed work instructions, and design tooling to enable precise, repeatable production of aerospace components while collaborating across Design, Quality and Production. The role requires 8+ years in aerospace manufacturing, a mechanical or aerospace engineering degree, and strong NX CAD and GD&T skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of aerospace manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Strong ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience planning manufacturing sequences and tooling design.
  • Proficiency with NX CAD.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for aerospace components.
  • Interpret drawings and 3D models to support planning.
  • Design tooling and fixtures for repeatable, high-quality production.

Overview

Electro-Methods Inc., a Stronvar Aerospace company, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our growing aerospace manufacturing team in South Windsor, CT. This role is critical in supporting the production of precision aerospace components by developing manufacturing processes, creating detailed work instructions, and designing the tooling necessary for efficient and quality-driven production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing aerospace components.
  • Interpret and create engineering drawings and 3D models to support manufacturing planning.
  • Design and detail tooling and fixtures to support efficient, repeatable, and high-quality production processes.
  • Create and maintain Manufacturing Work Instructions (MWIs) and technical documentation.
  • Plan and sequence manufacturing operations with a focus on quality, cost, and throughput.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Design Engineering, Quality, and Production, to ensure smooth implementation of processes.
  • Provide technical support to the shop floor, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in the implementation of Lean manufacturing principles and cost-saving strategies.
  • Utilize NX CAD software to develop, modify, and review models and tool designs.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing engineering role within the aerospace industry.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and 3D modeling.
  • Experience in planning manufacturing sequences and designing fixtures and tooling.
  • Experience with NX CAD platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
