Job summary

CoorsTek is seeking a Process Engineer in the United States to collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and staff to understand and improve manufacturing capabilities, increase yields and maximize productivity. The role emphasizes Lean Six Sigma, data-driven problem solving and cross-functional teamwork.

Job Title Process Engineer

The Process Engineer is responsible for collaborating with engineering, manufacturing and other staff within a plant to understand and increase manufacturing capabilities, increase yields, improve process flow, increase productivity and maximize work force utilization. Emphasis on Lean Six Sigma (Lean, Theory of Constraints, TQM, SPC, TPM, 6S, Kaizen)

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Involved in problem solving activities for complex issues that involve the given process and associated equipment.
  • Aids in technology transfers to meet production requirements.
  • Demonstrate ability to execute on mid-size projects.
  • Documentation, training and guiding plant engineering and manufacturing team members.
  • Collaborates with location manufacturing management to deliver yield and process improvements at their location.
  • Maintain, analyze and improve various types of equipment, including electronic and mechanical equipment to improve efficiency and utilization of resources.
  • Utilizes Structured Problem Solving (SPS), Process Control System (PCS), and Design for Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) to resolve complex methodologies and reduce future variation.
  • Actively develops expertise in Lean Six Sigma and process methodologies through hands‑on training, practical application in projects, and guidance from project leaders or senior‑level colleagues.

Software knowledge: MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required. Access, AutoCAD, SolidWorks and MasterCAM are a plus.

Must maintain high safety requirements including meeting local consensus safety standards.

Performs detail-oriented analysis utilizing statistics and very effective communication skills. Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related engineering discipline

Experience: 1-3 Years Ceramics, Mechanical or Industrial engineering background preferred

  • Project Management - Supports project execution by following plans, managing tasks, tracking progress, ensuring quality deliverables, securing resources, and proactively communicating risks and challenges.
Target Hiring Range

Annual Salary: USD 82,143.00 - USD 108,429.00. Actual compensation is commensurate with experience, skills and education.
