Job summary

Actus Nutrition is seeking a Process Engineer to drive strategic projects across our facilities. You will identify and implement equipment and process improvements, partnering with plant management and external vendors to ensure on-time, within-scope execution.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in process engineering, AutoCAD and P&ID knowledge, and strong communication and problem-solving skills. This role offers growth within a supportive manufacturing environment in Wisconsin.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Process or Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in process/engineering roles.
• Experience with capital projects and manufacturing improvements.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and P&ID concepts.
• Strong Excel and Word skills; good communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conceive and plan projects with manufacturing teams for new products and process improvements.
• Control budgets and timelines for capital projects.
• Collaborate with plant managers and contractors on scope and costs.
• Prepare project approvals and cost justifications.
• Lead projects to improve yield, reduce waste, and optimize CIP.

Job description

The Process Engineer will be responsible for driving and managing key strategic projects throughout our existing and future Actus Nutrition locations. This position will identify, design, and implement improvements to equipment and processes to optimize current manufacturing and commercialization of new products. This Position will manage and work closely with outside vendors, plant management, as well as other various internal resources to ensure projects are specified and completed within scope.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Conceive and plan projects, in collaboration with manufacturing team, involving major production activities (plant tests and commercialization of new products), exploration of product and/or process problems, definition and selection of new concepts and approaches in manufacturing operations.
• Control and administrate budgets and timelines
• Partner with plant managers to design and implement capital projects
• Partner with contractors to define scope, budget, and timelines
• Prepare project approval and justification documents
• Identify, research, and adapt machine and equipment design to accommodate factory and production improvements including preparation of cost justification and capital request documents.
• Lead and drive projects with significant productivity and cost reduction impacts. Areas of focus are overall yield, waste reduction, chemical usage, and CIP optimization.
• Manage projects involving design and procurement of new equipment, specifying, evaluating, and recommending innovative technologies, strategies and methods that will benefit operations as needed.
• Lead and manage projects to accomplish measurable manufacturing objectives.
• Study and improve manufacturing processes, procedures, and sequence of operations aimed at lowering manufacturing costs. Aid in creating, implementing, and maintaining Standard Work for all production areas.
• Innovate, recommend, and collaborate with technical teams to develop new processes/services in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Provide technical training for operators to support making decisions at the lowest level.
• Work with employees to identify and scope new process improvement opportunities in the areas of quality, cost, performance and preventative/predictive maintenance.
• Provide technical support and training to employees to improve operational effectiveness.
• Work with employees to identify and troubleshoot issues and ensure corrective action is taken as appropriate and required.
• Develop projects to eliminate waste and streamline the manufacturing flow.
• Communication skills as well as analytical and problem-solving skills also need to be very good for a change agent to be effective.
• Comply with relevant employment laws and company policies and procedures.
• Develop project library system for continuity.
• Develop and implement an improved project management system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Process, Chemical Engineering or related field
• 3-5 years of experience
• Partner Project engineering experience
• Good Windows skills (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Good oral and written communication skills. team spirit, dynamic, innovative, results-oriented, and autonomous
• Significant interaction with manufacturing facilities is required
• AutoCAD design
• P&ID knowledge or experience
