Momentive is seeking a Logistics Procurement Manager to develop and execute global procurement strategies for ocean freight, air freight, freight forwarding, and customs brokerage. You will manage supplier negotiations, contracts, and performance while aligning with regional stakeholders and ensuring reliable capacity and competitive costs.

You will lead bidding events, monitor markets, and drive risk and compliance across transportation networks.

Qualifications

Logistics Procurement Manager

Summary: In this role you will develop and execute Momentive's global procurement strategies for ocean freight, air freight, freight forwarding, and customs brokerage services. You will manage supplier relationships, sourcing events, negotiations, contracts, and commercial performance across these logistics categories. Working closely with regional logistics commodity and logistics managers, as well as key business stakeholders, you will ensure alignment between global strategies and regional requirements. You will be accountable for delivering competitive logistics costs, securing reliable capacity, driving strong supplier performance, and managing commercial and supply risks across Momentive's global transportation network.

Responsibilities Include:

Develop, maintain, and execute global procurement strategies for ocean freight, air freight, freight forwarding, and customs brokerage services, covering an annual spend of approximately $25 million. Lead global and regional sourcing events, commercial negotiations, supplier selections, contract development, and contract renewals for the assigned logistics categories. Monitor global transportation markets and translate into procurement strategies. Establish category-specific procurement plans that align with Momentive's business requirements, supply chain strategies, service expectations, sustainability objectives, and financial targets. Manage strategic relationships with ocean carriers, air freight providers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other logistics service providers to ensure reliable capacity, competitive costs, operational flexibility, and continuity of supply. Establish supplier performance expectations including scorecards, business reviews, corrective-action plans, and continuous-improvement initiatives focused on cost, service, capacity, quality, compliance, and responsiveness. Partner with regional commodity managers and logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, commercial, finance, legal, and Global Trade Compliance stakeholders to align global strategies with regional and local operating requirements. Serve as the primary procurement escalation point for commercial, contractual, capacity, service, and supplier-performance issues involving the assigned logistics modes. Support the business in resolving significant operational issues while maintaining appropriate procurement relationships. Develop and maintain contingency strategies for critical trade lanes. Ensure contracts and sourcing decisions support applicable legal, regulatory, safety, dangerous-goods, customs, trade-compliance, insurance, and Responsible Care requirements. Represent Procurement in digitalization initiatives such as Transportation Management System (TMS) implementation, data visibility, and process improvements that strengthen shipment execution, freight-cost management, and performance measurement. 20 - 30% Travel #LI-KG1

Qualifications:

BS/BA degree or equivalent. Minimum of five years of professional experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain management, or logistics, including experience with ocean freight, air freight, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, or comparable global transportation services. Demonstrated experience developing and executing sourcing strategies, leading competitive bid events, negotiating complex commercial agreements, and managing multi-year supplier contracts. Proven ability to analyze transportation rates, shipment data, supplier proposals, and market information to support sourcing and negotiation decisions. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize, validate, analyze, and summarize large datasets using common tools in the application. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams, with the ability to prepare sourcing recommendations, presentations, reports, and stakeholder communications. Comfort using Microsoft 365 Copilot or other company-approved AI tools to analyze information, develop initial drafts and improve productivity, while independently validating outputs and following company data-security requirements. Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex agreements in English. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, suppliers, and leaders at all organizational levels through clear verbal communication, professional business writing, data-driven recommendations, and executive-level presentations. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present data-driven recommendations to senior leaders and negotiate effectively with global suppliers.

The following are preferred for the role Experience procuring international transportation and logistics services in the chemical, specialty materials, manufacturing or other regulated industry. Working knowledge of dangerous-goods transportation, customs and trade compliance, carrier capacity management and international supply-chain risk. Experience managing global ocean carriers, air freight providers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, 3PLs or 4PLs. Relevant professional certification, such as CPSM, CSCP, CIPS, PMP, Lean or Six Sigma. Additional language skills and experience working in a global, cross-cultural environment.

What We Offer:

Base Pay Range: $106.500 - $156.200 The actual salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill sets, and geography. Local geographic pay differentials may not be reflected in the above pay range and will be discussed with you by a member of the HR team when applicable. Additionally, this role is eligible for incentive or sales variable compensation payments. The amount of these incentives is based on the terms of the Company's incentive plans, the Company's financial performance, and/or individual employee job performance.
