Job summary

Kerry Vinegar, part of Kerry Group, seeks a Process Engineer to optimize and maintain vinegar production, lead safety initiatives, and drive process improvements in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include training operators, executing capital projects up to $500k, and collaborating with maintenance and SAP teams to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency across the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 2+ years in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
• Leadership and self-motivation with ability to work independently.
• AutoCAD and P&ID drawing experience.

• Leadership in safety and environment, with compliance to Quality & Food Safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize chemical and technical aspects of vinegar production on site.
• Establish and perform training programs to improve operator skills and knowledge.
• Lead capital improvement projects up to $500,000 at the plant level.
• Create and maintain Plant P&ID drawings within the vinegar network.
• Lead process improvement projects related to vinegar production and efficiency.
• Assist in SAP documentation and training as required.
• Troubleshoot production to reduce losses due to contamination and equipment issues.
• Participate in process and equipment risk assessments for safer design.
• Coordinate with maintenance on equipment modernization and improvements.
• Assist in other plant production-related functions such as sampling and testing.

About the role

Kerry Vinegar is seeking a Process Engineer

Join us in a dynamic food manufacturing environment. Embrace the role and drive operational excellence tooptimize, troubleshoot and maintain existing equipment, utilities, process control systems and bacterial colony growth and health. Manage process improvement and operator training programs associated with all vinegar production processes. Develop, monitor and continuously improve manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor andoptimizethechemicaland technical aspects of all vinegar production on site.

Qualifications and skills

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’sof Sciencedegreein an Engineering discipline.

2+ years in a food or beverage manufacturing environment

• Demonstratedleadership skills,a high levelof motivation and the ability to work independently with a minimum of guidance from management.
• AutoCADP&IDdrawingsexperience.
• Project Management Experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills arerequired.
• Demonstrated leadership in the areasof safetyand environment. This requiresobservingand enforcing safety rules and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors, and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behavior, which may lead to accidents.
• Continually endorse the Quality & Food Safety Policies, assure conformance to all requirements of the Quality & Food Safety Management Systems, & take action to properly report failures of these systems to site management.

Physical Requirements

Ability to climbcatwalkstairs to access process equipment and computer interface points, lift loads up to 50pounds, work in confined spaces,and work in areas that could have vinegar fumes/odors.

While performing the duties of this job, the employeeis regularly required touse hands to finger, handle or feel objects,toolsor controls. The employeeis regularly required tosit, stand, walk, climbstairsandfrequentlyrequiredto reach with hands and arms and occasionally to stoop, kneel, or crouch.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, colorvisionand the ability to adjust focus. The positionfrequentlyrequires the ability to hear and to communicate verbally.

The pay range for this position is $77,000 - $109,050 in Annual Salary. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition, this position is also eligible to earn a performance-based incentive compensation.
