Job description

Eaton’s Electrical Division is currently seeking a Process Engineer to join our team in South Milwaukee, WI.

Salary range: $71,000 – $105,000 per year (subject to experience and qualifications).

What you’ll do:
  • Support the Vacuum Bottle Assembly & Electro Polishing Process.
  • Identify, measure, and document critical quality characteristics on the Control Plan.
  • Adhere to Safety initiatives by supporting MESH requirements, performing safety audits, and fostering a safety‑improvement culture.
  • Determine and implement best practices for furnace curing profiles and preventative maintenance.
  • Measure and improve first‑pass yield on all product classes.
  • Review SPC data.
  • Own all safety and equipment maintenance requirements, ensuring preventive and repair maintenance is completed.
  • Develop, implement, and document production test processes and methods; certify/test new hourly operators for adequate skills adherence to Standard Work.
  • Lead manufacturing process automation projects and deploy sound engineering controls to reduce cost and improve quality.
  • Develop, justify, and evolve capital plans and estimates throughout projects.
  • Communicate status and quality of projects and deliverables to team, management, and stakeholders.
  • Support Production, Engineering, and Manufacturing Services during equipment installation, modification, startup, and troubleshooting.
  • Interact with quality, operations, and suppliers to achieve objectives as part of a product and process improvement team.
  • Support NPD/NPI projects and work with cross‑functional teams to obtain desired results.
  • Review new products for moldability and testability; assist design groups to insure product designs can be molded and tested economically.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience with chemical processing or molding operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Relocation benefits are offered; candidates residing or willing to relocate within 50 miles of South Milwaukee, WI will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical limitation.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
Preferred:
  • Six‑Sigma experience improving processes.
  • Proven engineering experience with epoxy systems and molding operations.
  • A highly passionate manufacturing change agent who is a strong strategic leader and wants to be a vital member of a senior leadership team.
Skills:
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma (Black Belt).
  • Self‑starter able to work alone or in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with deadlines and bring assignments to successful completion with minimum supervision.
  • Hands‑on person.
  • Flexible to work extended hours or weekends in case of emergency or to support business needs as occasionally required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex test systems involving hardware and software.
  • Positive interaction and open communication with other factory disciplines.

  2. Number of key safety actions completed and complexity of the project.
  3. Savings resulting from productivity or quality projects.
