Job summary

Job description

Position Overview

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is seeking a Quality Supervisor based in South Milwaukee, WI. This role is responsible for reviewing daily in-process metrics such as SCRAP, DPPMs, DMRs/QNs for supplier defects, supervising inspection teams, and ensuring quality processes are executed effectively.

Compensation

Expected annual salary range: $97,000 - $143,000.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct quality personnel and prioritize quality functions regarding quality issues elimination from the systemic and non-systemic point of view while keeping production requirements as part of the resolution.
  • Review daily in-process metrics to determine team priorities, including FAI inspection in the Quality Lab.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions using 8D, 5 Why, A3 and lean tools to support initiatives around the reduction of internal & customer PPM, rework, scrap and FPY.
  • Direct cross-functional teams to eliminate roadblocks and communication barriers that may affect quality and customer requirements.
  • Understand and adhere to a quality system in conjunction with divisional procedures to ensure compliance with ISO standards, customer specific requirements, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Interact with multidisciplinary resources on problem-solving projects for product quality improvements and document QRQC reports to customers as required.
  • Support new product development from a Quality standpoint.
  • Motivate and coach employees to maintain high levels of satisfaction, productivity and quality.
  • Ensure the standardized EQMS processes for the quality management system are established, implemented, measured, and maintained within the designated department.
  • Support PPAP approvals – coordinate part samples for dimensional review and assembly trials in SMKE and work with the AMER/Electrical SQE team for overall PPAP approval.
  • Manage ST notification responsiveness, containment, root cause determination, corrective action, and closure of quality issues.
  • Manage interplant DMRs responsiveness, containment, root cause determination, corrective action and closure of quality issues.
  • Participate on the Material Review Board as well as authority for Special Process MRR.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in manufacturing or operations.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in people management.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
  • Only candidates residing within 50 miles of South Milwaukee, WI, or active duty military exempt from geographic limitation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in quality, manufacturing or engineering.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience developing and leading strategic quality, manufacturing or engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of APQP (Pro-Launch), Lean Methodology, MSA, PFMEA, Excel, PowerPoint, 8D, Foundation GD&T.
  • Up to 10% travel domestically and internationally.
  • Well-developed computer skills to perform essential functions.
  • Experience in using quality tools/methodologies (PPAP, APQP, MSA, PFMEA, SPC, Auditing).
  • Experience managing problem solving tools (8D, A3, Fishbone analysis).
  • Foundations using statistical techniques (Pareto, R&R).
  • Ability to read manufacturing drawings.
  • CQE Certification.
  • Green Belt Certification.
  • ISO 9001 / TS 16949 / IATF 16949 Knowledge & Experience.
Skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance and continuous improvement methods, approaches and tools, including strategic planning and project management.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing quality initiatives that have resulted in improved productivity and reduced cost of non-conformance in a manufacturing setting.
  • Expertise with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Project Management, Organizational change management, Quality Management System standards (ISO/TS 16949:2002, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and leadership development ability.
