Job summary

5N Plus Semiconductors is seeking a Process Engineer focused on semiconductor materials to help scale domestic production. You will design, optimize, and troubleshoot processes for crystal growth and wafer fabrication, with hands-on responsibility for equipment you help create.

This role requires a strong background in materials or mechanical/electrical engineering, 3+ years in semiconductor manufacturing, and comfort with SPC and data-driven problem solving.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Materials Science, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years in semiconductor, materials, or equipment-intensive manufacturing.
• Strong data and problem-solving instincts; comfort with statistical process control.

Process Engineer — Semiconductor Materials

5N Plus Semiconductors grows compound semiconductor crystals — gallium arsenide, germanium, indium antimonide, cadmium telluride — for satellites, infrared sensors, medical imaging, and defense systems. We're expanding our team to scale domestic production.

We're looking for process engineers across crystal growth, materials processing, and equipment development. We build much of our own furnaces and tooling in house, so this is hands‑on work — designing a process, building the thing that runs it, and owning the yield.

What you'll do

• Develop and optimize processes for crystal growth, wafering, or component fabrication
• Design, build, and commission furnaces, tooling, and process equipment
• Run root‑cause analysis and drive yield and variation improvement
• Own process documentation, SPC, and qualification data

What we're looking for

• BS, MS, or PhD in Materials Science, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years in semiconductor, materials, or equipment‑intensive manufacturing
• Strong data and problem‑solving instincts; comfort with statistical process control
