Job summary

Sedgman is seeking a Process Engineer for our Phoenix, AZ office to support design and engineering teams in delivering high-quality mining projects.

You will perform process design studies, develop PFDs, mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, and coordinate with other departments while traveling to mine sites as needed.

Ideally, you hold a bachelor's in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy or Chemical disciplines, 2–5 years' experience, and are eligible to register as a PE in Arizona.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy or Chemical Disciplines is required.
  • 2–5 years of work experience; process design experience preferred.
  • Eligible to register with the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration to obtain a Professional Engineer license (P.E.).

Responsibilities

  • Provide process design support through the engineering phases PEA, PFS, FS, conceptual design, front-end engineering and detailed design.
  • Perform studies into operational site improvements and modifications.
  • Develop, promote and use operations systems (JDE, SPRS, Synergy, Aconex, SMS, Dochub).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process issues.
  • Develop process flow sheets and prepare process design criteria.
  • Prepare process calculations, PFDs, heat and material balances and P&IDs.
  • Size process equipment and develop specifications.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in mining processing technology and implement new equipment or processes.

We are currently seeking a Process Engineer for our Phoenix, AZ. office.The selected candidate will provide process engineering support to Sedgman design and engineering team, helping deliver high quality projects to clients. As part of the process team, daily involvement in calculations, drawings, reviews, reports, modelling and client support activities will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Additional duties as required
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mineral Processing, Metallurgy or Chemical Disciplines)
  • With 2 – 5 years of work experience; process design experience preferred Must be eligible to register with theArizona State Board of Technical Registration to obtain the Professional Engineer licensing (P.E.).
  • Knowledge of process engineering, equipment, and technologies
  • Good communication skills with well-developed written and oral skills.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Must be able to travel to Mine sites, which may include some secondments
  • Must be eligible to work in USA without sponsorship
