Job summary

CoorsTek is seeking a Process Engineer to partner with engineering and manufacturing teams at our Oak Ridge facility, focusing on improving manufacturing capabilities, yields and throughput with Lean Six Sigma methodologies. You will support problem solving, project execution and equipment optimization while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years experience in ceramics, materials science, or mechanical engineering preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma knowledge and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Familiarity with QS/quality systems and GD&T preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and staff to improve yields and productivity.
• Lead or support mid-size improvement projects using SPS/PCS methodologies.
• Assist in technology transfers to meet production requirements.
• Document, train and guide plant teams on process improvements.
• Install, maintain, analyze and improve equipment for efficiency and utilization.
• Communicate risks, progress and results to management.

Documentation, training and guiding plant engineering and manufacturing team members.Collaborates with location manufacturing management to deliver yield and process improvements at their location.Install, maintain, analyze and improve various types of equipment, including electronic and mechanical equipment to improve efficiency and utilization of resources.Utilizes Structured Problem Solving (SPS) and Process Control System (PCS) methodologies to resolve complex issues and reduce future variationActively develops expertise in Lean Six Sigma and process methodologies through hands-on training, practical application in projects, and guidance from project leaders or senior-level colleagues.Software knowledge: MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab are required.
