Job summary

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions US Inc. is seeking a Process Engineer to enhance manufacturing processes, develop controls, and support the NPI and tooling design across the site.

Responsibilities include leading improvements, conducting root-cause analyses, and collaborating with shop floor staff and suppliers to implement solutions that reduce costs and improve quality. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in engineering or manufacturing.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and meet goals and deadlines.
  • Interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal departments, suppliers, and customers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems with multiple variables.
  • Willingness to learn and continuously improve.
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports operation's tasks ranging from daily assignments to long term projects.
  • Regularly interacts with shop floor employees, leads and supervisors to understand issues and identify technical solutions.
  • Continuously manages several Manufacturing Excellence projects to reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Serve as change agent in continuous improvement.
  • Active participant in site wide continuous improvement activities; idea generation and project implementation.
  • Manage CAPEX Projects; identify, justify and implement project with budgets from $3k to $100k+.
  • Lead root cause analysis with cross-functional team; manage corrective action plan to completion.
  • Support or develop the design of new tools; quote and manage tool builds and tooling repairs with external vendors.
  • Design shop floor fixtures and manufacturing aids; quote and manage builds with external vendors.
  • Develop/modify work instructions for best practices and efficiency.
  • Create and manage ECNs to completion.
  • Interact with external customers on technical topics and provide clear responses.
  • Support NPI team with tooling and process design.
  • Assist Purchasing and Quality with offsite vendor visits and audits.
  • Support Quality with technical expertise.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering
2+ years of experience in engineering or manufacturing
English language proficiency
Problem-solving aptitude (5 Why, Fishbone, etc.)
Interpersonal collaboration and communication
Microsoft Office proficiency
Lean Manufacturing knowledge

Job description

The Process Engineer supports the team with process expertise; develop, maintain, and improve systems, processes, procedures and process controls.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Supports operation'stasks ranging fromdaily assignments tolong term projects.
  • Regularly interacts with shop floor employees, leads and supervisors to understand issues and identify technical solutions. Provides regular training to supervisors and shop floor operators.
  • Continuously manages several Manufacturing Excellence projects to reduce manufacturing costs. Serve as change agent in continuous improvement.
  • Active participant in site wide continuous improvement activities. Idea generation and project implementation.
  • Manage CAPEX Projects; identify, justify and implement project. Projects ranging from $3kto $100k+
  • Lead root cause analysis exercises with a cross-functional team. Manage corrective action plan to completion in a timely manner.
  • Support or develop the design of new tools. Quote and manage new tool builds and tooling repairs with external vendors on a regular basis.
  • Design shop floor fixtures and manufacturing aids. Quote and manage builds with external vendors on a regular basis.
  • Develop/Modify work instructions to reflect best practices clarifying instructions and optimizing production efficiency.
  • Create and manage EngineeringChange Notices (ECNs) to completion.
  • Regularly interact with external customers regarding technical topics providing clear and thorough responses.
  • Support New Product Induction (NPI) team with tooling and process design.
  • Support Purchasing and Quality Departments with offsite vendor visits and audits as needed.
  • Support Quality Department with technical expertise as needed
Education and Experience

Required :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • 2+ years of experience in engineering or manufacturing
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Ability to communicate clearly by conveying and receiving ideas, information and direction effectively
  • Ability to challenge oneself to consistently meet all goals and deadlines
  • Interpersonal skills to collaborate and communicate with internal departments, suppliers, and customers
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
  • Demonstrates good judgment in investigating problems including use of problem-solving tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, etc.
  • Willingness to learn and continuously improve
  • Commitment to making improvements company wide
  • Demonstrated competence using Microsoft Office
  • Organized and methodical
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge preferred

Annual Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000
