Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

The Process Engineer will be responsible for supporting and improving glass fabrication processes to ensure efficient production, product quality, and operational performance. This position will focus on troubleshooting manufacturing processes, reducing scrap, improving throughput, maintaining process documentation, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. The Process Engineer will work closely with production teams to optimize equipment performance, ensure compliance with customer specifications, and support safe and effective manufacturing operations.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide engineering support for assigned areas of glass fabrication operations.
• Manage process-related tooling and ensure readiness for each production run.
• Troubleshoot production line operations and resolve manufacturing process issues.
• Develop, issue, and revise engineering drawings, process sheets, and work instructions to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase manufacturing capabilities, improve efficiency, and reduce scrap.
• Verify that manufactured components meet customer specifications and quality standards.
• Analyze weekly production results, identify performance deficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production operators to reduce defects, increase throughput, and improve product dimensional capabilities.
• Train operators on the safe and effective operation of manufacturing equipment and machinery.
• Support ongoing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and overall operational performance.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent technical education or relevant automotive glass processing experience will also be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience with manufacturing equipment, production processes, or automated assembly lines.
• Proficiency in CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies, including Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control (SPC), 5 Why Analysis, Pareto Analysis, and other problem-solving tools.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and resolve process-related issues.
• Experience evaluating tooling, product quality, and manufacturing processes to identify improvement opportunities.
• Ability to analyze production data and implement sustainable improvements in quality, efficiency, and productivity.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Understanding of manufacturing process controls, dimensional accuracy, and quality requirements.
