• Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of manufacturing technical staff.
• Participate in personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, discipline, discharge, performance reviews, interviews and selection.
• Maintain engineering process, product and project records; produce and distribute appropriate reports.
• Direct and document meetings with manufacturing technical staff to outline plan of action, assign tasks, responsibilities, follow up and communications.
• Ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed cost standards.
• Supervise technicians in providing sample and production molds startup, material development, and other technical support.
• Introduce new parts and processes into production.
• Work with sample technician and production supervision to advance pilot program into production operations.
• Troubleshoot injection molding processes.
• Develop process parameters and techniques and revise as necessary to meet cost control requirements.
• Check work methods and operations to improve quality and reduce cost.
• Work with production control to coordinate sample schedules and requirements.
• Work with customers, quality, and production to ensure consistent interpretation and application of methods, standards and policies.
• Deal with material, inserts, mold and other related problems.
• Enforce prescribed safety rules and regulations.
• Ensure work areas are maintained in a neat and orderly condition.

PURPOSE

Responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of manufacturing technicians and providing engineering and technical support for manufacturing systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
