Job summary

LeoForce in Lathrop, CA is seeking a Process Engineer to lead aseptic process design, validation, and continuous improvement across pilot and commercial production.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in food processing, strong PLC/HMI and CAD skills, and a track record of GMP/FSMA compliance, with opportunities for ROI analysis and capital projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in food processing or food manufacturing.
  • Experience scaling production from pilot plant to commercial manufacturing.
  • Experience creating PFDs and P&IDs using CAD software.
  • Experience working with PLC and HMI automation systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process design, validation, and improvement initiatives in an aseptic environment.
  • Develop PFDs and P&IDs for pilot and commercial lines.
  • Create and manage technical documentation, project plans, and schedules.
  • Ensure GMP and FSMA compliance.
  • Write SOPs and batch documentation.
  • Lead equipment qualification and validation programs (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Define operating parameters and ranges.
  • Evaluate manufacturing capability for new and existing products.
  • Support scale-up from pilot plant to commercial production.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement root cause solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement and yield optimization.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities, capital improvements, and equipment upgrades.
  • Develop ROI analyses and technical proposals for capital projects.
  • Assist training operators and maintenance teams on equipment and sanitation.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Lead process design, validation, and improvement initiatives in an aseptic manufacturing environment.
  • Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and P&IDs for pilot and commercial production lines.

  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office and CAD tools
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with production and technical teams
