Job summary

Jobot in Lathrop, CA is seeking an experienced engineer to lead aseptic process design and validation for pilot and commercial production lines. You will create PFDs and P&IDs, manage technical docs and schedules, and ensure GMP/FSMA compliance across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in food processing or food manufacturing.
• Experience scaling production from pilot plant to commercial manufacturing.
• Experience writing technical documentation, SOPs, and project proposals.

Responsibilities

• Lead process design, validation, and improvement initiatives in an aseptic manufacturing environment.
• Develop PFDs and P&IDs for pilot and commercial production lines.
• Create and manage technical documentation, project plans, and schedules.
• Ensure GMP and FSMA regulations compliance.
• Write and maintain SOPs and batch documentation.
• Lead equipment qualification and validation programs (IQ/OQ/PQ).
• Define operating parameters and acceptable process ranges.
• Evaluate manufacturing capability for new and existing products.
• Support new product development and pilot plant trials.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement root cause analysis solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement and yield optimization initiatives.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities, capital improvements, and equipment upgrades.
• Develop ROI analysis and technical proposals for capital projects.
• Assist with training operators and maintenance teams on equipment and sanitation procedures.
• Support scale-up from pilot plant to commercial production.
