Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. is seeking a Process Engineer in Kankakee, IL to optimize manufacturing processes, improve safety, quality, and efficiency, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

You will work with production, maintenance, and quality teams to analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and process standardization. A strong engineering background and hands-on experience in a fast-paced plant are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in roofing/building materials or heavy manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong understanding of TQM and TPM principles.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and PLC systems (ControlLogix/RSLogix).
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience leading projects from planning to completion.
  • Lean Six Sigma knowledge and continuous improvement experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Define and resolve process problems using continuous improvement methods.
  • Develop standard work and train operators and supervisors for safe, consistent running of plant processes.
  • Commission new production equipment and monitor upgrades and troubleshooting of existing processes.
  • Collaborate with plant engineer to enhance efficiency, output, and safety.
  • Collect and interpret data to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
