Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Process Engineer to join our dynamic team at MEC, a growing Oil & Gas engineering and consulting firm. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, optimization, and operation of natural gas processing systems. From new graduates eager to launch their careers to seasoned professionals with proven expertise, we welcome candidates of all experience levels. Compensation will be competitive and aligned with your background and skills. The position requires approximately 25% travel to West Texas to support field operations, client projects, and site assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, simulate, and optimize natural gas processing systems, including gas treatment, compression, dehydration, cryogenics and fractionation processes.
  • Perform process calculations, develop P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and support equipment sizing and selection.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct field visits in West Texas (approximately 25% travel) to troubleshoot processes, support commissioning, and provide on-site technical assistance.
  • Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements for enhanced performance and cost savings.
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and documentation for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in natural gas processing.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Open to new graduates with strong academic foundations or experienced engineers with a proven track record in process engineering (natural gas experience preferred but not required).
  • Familiarity with process simulation software (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus, UniSim, or ProMax) is a plus.
  • Understanding of natural gas processing, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in both office and field environments.
  • Willingness to travel to West Texas (approximately 25% of the time) for project support.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for client interactions and technical reporting.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME) is advantageous.
