Job summary

FC Industries is seeking a Lean Engineer in Dayton, OH to lead continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. You will drive productivity, reduce waste, and apply Lean principles to support operational excellence.

The role requires hands-on experience in manufacturing process improvement, leading Kaizen events, and achieving cost reductions. Strong collaboration with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing process improvement experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (preferred).
  • Experience managing multi-site improvement initiatives (preferred).
  • Low/high-volume manufacturing experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.
  • Develop and maintain Value Stream Maps.
  • Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities.
  • Reduce changeover times using SMED methodologies.
  • Capture and educate operators to record/reduce scrap.
  • Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Facilitate root cause analysis investigations.
  • Develop and implement standard work procedures.
  • Partner with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams.
  • Track and report KPI improvements.
  • Train employees on Lean tools and methodologies.
  • Maintain a strong floor presence.

Position Summary

The Lean Engineer will lead continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for driving productivity improvements, reducing waste, improving quality, and implementing Lean Manufacturing principles to support operational excellence.

Responsibilities as a Lean Engineer
  • Lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.
  • Develop and maintain Value Stream Maps using Value Stream Mapping
  • Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities.
  • Reduce changeover times utilizing SMED methodologies.
  • Develop a system to capture, educate operators to record/reduce Scrap
  • Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Requirements as a Lean Engineer
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing process improvement experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of:
