Job Summary:
Under minimal direction, provides turnkey hands-on activities from machine arrival, runoff at Gosiger, and acceptance at the customer site. Provides technical expertise to internal/external customers, ensuring customer development, retention, and satisfaction. Performs customer machine setup, programming, and run-offs. Designs and develops machine programming processes to create parts. Responsible for customer machine operation and program training to ensure optimum efficiency and equipment utilization. Provides applications troubleshooting phone support as required. This position is considered a safety-sensitive position.
Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Ensures high quality standards in all work performed and follows all safety procedures and requirements.
- Performs hands-on turnkey processes from machine arrival through acceptance at the customer site.
- Develops and optimizes processes as required.
- Participates in kickoff and internal status meetings as available.
- Operates, programs, and utilizes Zeiss CMM.
- Follows CNC safety programming procedures.
- Performs tooling and fixturing setups, programming, and run-offs to ensure optimal cycle times.
- Interprets part prints and designs machine programming processes based on tooling and fixturing knowledge.
- Provides on-site and in-house customer training on machine operations and troubleshooting.
- Travels to customer sites locally and out-of-state to support customers.
- Maintains records, documentation, and reporting related to machine and programming processes.
- Offers feedback on work-holding and tooling performance.
- Assists in project management, ensuring timely follow-up and completion of tasks.
- Participates in sales, service, company, and customer meetings as requested.
- Maintains current technical and interpersonal skills through continuous development.
- Supports additional duties within scope as needed, taking responsibility for assigned projects.
Qualifications
- Two-year degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of machine tool products, options, functions, and programming, including G and M codes.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive; background checks required.
- Strong documentation, communication, organization, and project management skills.
- Proficient in relevant software/programs.
- Ability to travel up to 30-35%, including out-of-state and out-of-country, with valid passport.
Working Conditions
- Office and manufacturing environment with moving parts, loud equipment, and chemical exposure.
- Hands-on work with machine tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
