Job summary

Sense in the United States is seeking an experienced process engineer to provide onsite support for ice cream manufacturing, process optimization, and capital projects. You will review and develop process flow diagrams, specify utilities and equipment, and work with production teams to boost plant efficiency, throughput, and product quality.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Food, or Dairy Engineering and 10–15 years in dairy or ice cream manufacturing, with strong

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Food, or Dairy Engineering or related field.
• 10–15 years in dairy, frozen dessert, food & beverage, or ice cream manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of ice cream processes including pasteurization, homogenization, ageing, freezing, and ingredient handling.
• Experience with hygienic design principles and sanitary process systems.
• Knowledge of refrigeration interfaces and utility systems supporting ice cream manufacturing.
• Experience supporting capital projects and plant expansions.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations, GMP, HACCP, and FDA requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Ability to work onsite at client manufacturing locations in the USA.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite process engineering support for ice cream manufacturing, process optimization, and capital projects.
• Support process design related to ingredient receiving, mix preparation, pasteurization, homogenization, ageing, freezing, and packaging.
• Review and develop process flow diagrams, utility requirements, and process equipment specifications.
• Work closely with production teams to improve plant efficiency, throughput, and product quality.
• Coordinate process engineering activities with OEMs and refrigeration system suppliers.
• Participate in process troubleshooting, performance evaluation, and startup activities.
• Support commissioning, qualification, and validation of new process systems.
• Review vendor proposals and provide technical recommendations.
• Ensure food safety, hygienic design, and regulatory compliance requirements are maintained.
• Liaise with offshore engineering teams and client stakeholders for timely project delivery.
