Job summary

Corelle Brands in Corning, NY, is seeking a Process Engineer to analyze pressware plant production, lead teams, and determine optimal operating conditions. You will document findings and recommend process and equipment improvements.

Position Summary:

Analyze Pressware plant production processes, perform experiments and lead teams to determine best operating conditions, procedures, and product forming engineering. Write appropriate documentation and make recommendations for processes and equipment improvements.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Plans and executes on existing processes to determine best operating set points and procedures. Recommend and champion appropriate changes to the manufacturing process.
• Identify, plan, and implement new products and processes for expansion or improvement of business.
• Use 6-Sigma statistical techniques to analyze existing data and to design and run trials.
• Leads project and troubleshooting teams to determine root cause and corrective action solutions.
• Ensure that products are made in accordance with documented procedures. Manage deviations from documented procedures through the Process Document Change (PDC) and Engineering Change Notice (ECN) processes.
• Verifies equipment set-ups, performs observations, and monitors manufacturing processes to detect trends and deviations from documented procedures.
• Able to interpret, apply and implement statistical quality control and lean methods / tools on existing and new manufacturing processes.
• Effectively identifies areas for improvement and drives / implements corrective actions as needed.
• Develop programs to improve forming productivity to maximize select rates.
• Host monthly hot end data review meeting and track follow-up action items.
• Effectively promotes safety and housekeeping improvement programs.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with experience in continuous improvement, continuous 24/7 process in a manufacturing environment. Union environment preferred.
• Must be able to analyze data using Excel and other software tools.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in manufacturing. Preferred experience in glass manufacturing.
• Must be able to provide after-hours and weekend support as required, on-call duties.
• Must be willing to collaborate with union and salary personnel to troubleshoot equipment and machinery issues; and perform preventative maintenance.
