Job summary

AD Energy Recruitment seeks a talented RNG Process Engineer to design, optimize, and maintain renewable natural gas production processes, including anaerobic digestion, biogas upgrading, and gas separation, while upholding safety and environmental standards.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead process improvements, analyze performance data, and ensure compliance with regulations. A chemical or mechanical engineering background and 3–5 years of RNG experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years in process engineering; RNG/biogas experience preferred
  • Proficiency in process simulation, CAD, and data analysis tools

Responsibilities

  • Process Design & Optimization: develop and optimize RNG production processes (ANAEROBIC DIGESTION, biogas upgrading, gas separation).
  • Project management: plan, execute, and commission RNG projects within timelines and budgets.
  • Technical support: troubleshoot operations and implement process improvements.
  • Data analysis: monitor performance metrics and ensure quality/efficiency standards.
  • Compliance & safety: adhere to environmental regs and safety standards; perform audits.
  • Collaboration: work with engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Documentation: maintain records of designs, modifications, procedures.

Job Summary:

The RNG Process Engineer will play a critical role in designing, optimizing, and maintaining processes for the production of renewable natural gas. This position will require a strong background in chemical or mechanical engineering, process design, and environmental systems. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Design & Optimization: Develop and optimize RNG production processes, including anaerobic digestion, biogas upgrading, and gas separation technologies.
  • Project Management: Lead or assist in the planning, execution, and commissioning of RNG projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Technical Support: Provide engineering support for ongoing operations, troubleshoot issues, and implement process improvements.
  • Data Analysis: Monitor and analyze process performance metrics, ensuring compliance with quality and efficiency standards.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all processes adhere to environmental regulations and safety standards, conducting regular audits and risk assessments.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to align process improvements with company goals.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of process designs, modifications, and operational procedures.
Process Engineer Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in process engineering, with experience in RNG, biogas, or related industries strongly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD), CAD tools, and data analysis platforms.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of RNG technologies, biogas upgrading, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certifications are desirable.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
