Qualifications

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering is preferred; Mechanical Engineering degree considered with appropriate experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Process Engineer or similar role in chemical industry.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma) and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing production processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop solutions to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and resolve issues.
  • Develop and document SOPs for production processes and equipment.
  • Design/modify equipment to improve performance and reliability.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Use data to monitor and control process variables.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and implement related technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations in process design.

Job description

Join the commercial leader in advanced recycling technology that converts landfill-bound plastics into feedstocks for the production of sustainable plastics for many applications worldwide. The Process Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing efficient production processes to improve productivity and quality. Will be instrumental in optimizing operations and ensuring the successful implementation of new processes and technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze existing production processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop solutions to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including production, engineering, & quality assurance, to implement process improvements and resolve issues.
  • Develop/document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production processes and equipment.
  • Design/implement equipment modifications to improve performance and reliability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis & troubleshoot process issues, recommending/implementing corrective actions.
  • Utilize data analysis techniques to monitor and control process variables.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and implement technologies to streamline production processes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations in process design and implementation.
  • Coordinate/collaborate with vendors and suppliers to evaluate and select equipment and materials for process improvements.
  • Train production personnel on new processes and equipment and provide ongoing support and guidance.
Education and Experience
  • B.S., Chemical Engineering preferred; Mechanical Engineering degree considered with appropriate experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Process Engineer or in a similar role in the chemical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, including manufacture, assembly, and quality control.
  • Proficiency in process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with data‑driven decision making.
  • Project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing processes.
  • PSM knowledge would be a big plus.
  • Continuous improvement mindset focusing on operational excellence.
  • Experience with process simulation software and familiarity with CAD software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
  • Willingness to stay current with industry trends and advancements in process engineering.
