Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb in New Brunswick, NJ is seeking a PhD chemist to design and optimize safe, scalable synthetic processes for drug candidates, with a focus on robust chemistry and technology transfer.

You will work in CPD with organic chemists and engineers, contribute to regulatory filings and manufacturing readiness, and communicate findings to project teams to enable clinical supply and successful scale-up.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in organic chemistry or related field with 0–3 years of postdoctoral experience, or an M.Sc in organic chemistry with 4–8 years of related research experience.
• Strong background in synthetic organic chemistry and problem solving.
• Experience in purification and characterization of organic compounds (Chromatography, NMR, MS, IR).
• Excellent oral and written communication; able to work in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement safe, efficient and robust chemical processes for drug candidates.
• Analyze, compile, and share data with project teams and management.
• Develop knowledge to support transitions from labs to clinical supply, regulatory filings and manufacturing vendors.
• Collaborate with Analytical Chemistry and Engineering teams to ensure successful supply of clinical materials.
