Job summary

Moderna seeks a role to support drug product development for sterile biologics, focusing on process development, scale-up, and formulation optimization for clinical and future commercial supply.

The position conducts studies on scaling processes, evaluates material compatibility, and collaborates on toxicology and stability fills, with hands-on DoE planning and execution.

Hybrid onsite/work-from-home in a biotech setting, requiring strong lab skills and relevant degree(s).

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s in Chemical, Biochemical, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related fields.
• 0-2 years post-Master’s or 2+ years post-Bachelor’s experience.
• Strong lab skills.
• Knowledge of DoE and nucleic acid chemistry advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct studies on manufacturing scale-up processes (freeze/thaw, mixing, lyophilization, transport).
• Evaluate material compatibility.
• Collaborate on toxicology and stability fills.
• Plan and execute experiments (including DoE).
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
• Perform characterization techniques (opacity testing, microscopy, particle sizing).
• Ensure long-term stability of vialed products, with documentation in ELN.
