Job summary

Amgen is seeking an Associate Engineer in Thousand Oaks, CA to partner with engineers and scientists on synthetic unit operations, from development to manufacturing scale‑up. The role supports process design, optimization, and technology transfer in a fast-paced biotech setting.

You will work with analytics, risk assessment, and process characterization while communicating with Manufacturing, Process Development, and Quality teams. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Alternate pathways include Associate's +4 yrs or HS +6 yrs in engineering.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% for domestic/international assignments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize synthetic unit operations during tech transfer.
• Design experiments, analyze data, assess process risk and scale-up.
• Provide in-plant support during process execution and commissioning.
• Author docs for process understanding, tech transfer and risk assessment.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Process Development, and Quality teams.
